Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
We keep data collection minimal. Here's exactly what we store:

Guest players (no Google sign-in) are identified by a random UUID stored in your browser's localStorage. We cannot link this to your real identity.
2. What We Don't Collect
- No location data or IP logging beyond standard server access logs
- No payment or credit card information (Kicks are free, not purchased)
- No contacts, photos, or device sensor data
- No third-party ad tracking pixels or advertising SDKs
- No personal information from children under 13
3. How We Use Your Data
- Gameplay — display your name, avatar, and stats to other players in rooms and leaderboards
- Account persistence — if you link Google, we store your email to let you log back in on any device
- Reward fulfillment — if you redeem Kicks for a reward code, we record the transaction
- Anti-abuse — detect multi-accounting, botting, and exploit attempts
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
4. Where Data Lives
Game data is stored on Cloudflare Workers (D1 database and Durable Objects), distributed globally at the edge. Data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Guest player data also resides in your browser's localStorage.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use localStorage (not tracking cookies) to store your player ID, nickname, and avatar seed locally. If you sign in with Google, a session cookie identifies your authenticated session. We do not use third-party cookies, analytics trackers, or fingerprinting.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
SneakerGuess is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will delete their account and associated data. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- View your data — your profile page shows everything we store about you
- Delete your account — contact us and we'll wipe your player record, stats, and any linked email
- Unlink Google — revoke access from your Google Account settings at any time
- Clear local data — clear your browser's localStorage to remove the guest profile
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we remove your data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated game statistics (total rounds played, global averages) may be retained indefinitely.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
